Environmental Excellence Awards Benchmark Report
Announcing Practice Greenhealth’s first Environmental Excellence Awards Metrics Benchmark Report.
This report summarizes environmental sustainability activity and material/waste data provided by Practice Greenhealth’s sixty 2009 Partner for Change Award winners. This report was generated in part due to requests from hospitals and business members for benchmark information regarding waste generation, recycling, and other activities at our member facilities. We not only calculated the benchmarks you might be interested in, but expanded on the material information to include details regarding specific activities from energy efficiency, to green team development, to specific program implementation. We think it will be useful for all of our members to see what Practice Greenhealth Award Winning health care facilities are up to!
While this is the first year that this type of data has been summarized and released, we intend to track this data, illustrating how sustainability matures over time. We hope to have even more information available after our 2010 Environmental Excellence Awards to be presented at CleanMed 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland from May 11-13 (see http://cleanmed.org/).
