Practice Greenhealth members are eligible for recognition through the Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards. Whether just getting started or with numerous programs underway, facility members can get recognition for environmental accomplishments and celebrate environmental achievements. Business members can also get recognition for improving their environmental performance and helping their facility customers achieve their environmental goals.
Objectives
Learn the step by step approach to Practice Greenhealth’s Environmental Excellence Awards Program. Understand the various awards available, the award criteria, submission details and review process and presentation at Cleanmed in May 2010.

Janet Brown is Director, Sustainable Operations and leads environmental improvement activities for membership facilities. Janet coordinates a monthly Greening Operations webinar series and is on the Steering Committee of the Green Guide for Health Care and Planetree’s Design Advisory Council.
Prior to joining Practice Greenhealth, Janet coordinated health care environmental management programs for Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City from 1991 – 2004. Beth Israel received numerous awards including the EPA’s Environmental Quality Award in 2001.

Lin moved to San Francisco in 1989 with a Masters degree in Hydrogeology to work as an environmental consultant three weeks prior to the Loma Prieta Earthquake! She relocated to the Midwest in the mid 90’s to work for the Ohio EPA, where she worked with regulatory and pollution prevention programs. At Ohio EPA Lin collaborated with the Attorney General’s office to include pollution prevention projects in settling enforcement cases.
In 1999 Lin moved to northern New Hampshire to work for the NH Department of Environmental Service’s Pollution Prevention Program. She has been working exclusively with sustainability and greening in healthcare since 2002 and is primarily responsible for coordinating Practice Greenhealth’s Environmental Excellence Awards Program.
