Greening Operations Series: The Original Green: 20 Ways to Save Money Saving Water

Mar 09 2010

Topic

This webinar will review the multiple ways Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA reduced their water use from 62 million gallons per year to 35 million gallons per year for a 45% savings over 27.7 million gallons per year average from 1998 – 2008! During this same time period their campus grew 17% and patient volumes increased an average of 2.5% per year.

In 2009, Providence St. Peter Hospital continued their water conservation efforts with a new plumbing retrofit project resulting in another 12% in water savings.

This webinar will also review how saving water is not only good for our environment, but also and especially for Healthcare Facilities saves you substantial money as saving water inherently saves waste water and hot water generation energy expenses that often times carry payback periods of 1-3 years due to their 24/7 operation, specialized equipment, and rising utility costs.

Objectives

  • Attendees will learn multiple ways to save water, waste and hot water generation energy implemented by Providence St. Peter Hospital over the last decade
  • Attendees will learn general payback/return on water efficiency investments performed
  • Attendees will learn how they can prepare to do the same for their facility
